National Living Wage & National Minimum Wage Increases 2019
With effect from 1st April 2019, the National Living Wage will increase from £7.83 per hour to £8.21 per hour, while for workers in the age group 21 to 24, the National Minimum Wage will increase from £7.38 per hour to £7.70 per hour.
The hourly rate for workers in the age group 18 to 20 will increase from £5.90 to £6.15, young workers between 16 and 17 years old will be entitled to £4.35 per hour as apposed to £4.20 per hour, and the apprenticeship rate will rise from £3.70 per hour to £3.90 per hour.
Also from April 2019, the employer pension contribution will rise from 2% to 3%, and the employee’s contribution will rise from 3% to 5%.
