Our client, a thriving shipping and logistics company based in Tilbury is seeking an experienced Customs Operations Executive to join their busy customs team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team, that is expanding due to company growth.
Your duties will include liaising with a number of people including HMRC, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors (shipping lines, hauliers and depots) on a daily basis in order to maximise profitability, whenever the opportunity arises. You will be engaging with customers in order to grow their support, so fantastic verbal and written skills are key.
Experience within a similar role and the ability to use your own initiative is needed as you will sometimes have to make decisions on difficult circumstances. Experience with 'CHIEF' & 'Destin8' is essential for this role, as well as strong Maths and IT skills. Knowledge of Customs Clearance procedures would be beneficial.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
