Our client based in Basildon is looking to recruit a Freight Forwarding Customer Service Operator to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of land freight operations and strong customer service / account management skills.
Based within the busy forwarding department you will be processing customer bookings, responding to spot quotes, confirming quotes by telephone and chasing quotations given in order to secure the business.
You will liaise with the Manager and Sales team to ensure all quotes have been recorded on the system within a set time frame. Other aspects of the role will be liaising with third party contractors to ensure the accurate and timely bookings for consignments whilst building supplier network and relationships.
In addition to this you will assist the manager with all cross-trade logistics, maintain relationships with key accounts, deal with enquiries, check that invoicing has been carried out on time and assist with the collection of overdue payments when needed.
To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in freight forwarding and have excellent communication and people skills and the ability to build strong business relationships with customers.
The hours for this role are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday
