Our client, a thriving, successful business based in Thurrock is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage their supply of materials and services.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have an excellent understanding of building materials as well as experience creating great connections with suppliers.
Your duties will include liaising with key contacts to ensure specifications and expectations are met within the required time-frame, approving orders, controlling the spends of projects and managing budgets to ensure long-term savings, working closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure everything runs smoothly and maintaining a database of supplier details and developments. You will be responsible for the purchasing of products, reducing supplier quality issues and recovering costs, as well as performing risk management for contracts.
You will need to be confident negotiating with suppliers and customers, as well as have excellent attention to detail and fantastic organisation skills in order to maintain the company database with all correct records, pricing and important information.
On occasions you will be required to travel to different sites across the UK, so a driving license and car is essential.
To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience within a similar role as well as a background within the building/construction materials industry.
This is a Full time Permanent role, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, paying up to £40k per annum depending on experience.
